Easy Steps for Compliance Training for Every Company – How it will make your life easier and improve your company’s HR
Not too long ago, compliance training for HR were dirty words, guaranteed to fall on deaf ears by management. As an HR professional, you knew the value of having managers keep abreast of changes in law – and get refreshed on important topics. Trouble was, few shared your insight. Compliance training has gone from a good idea to a mandatory preventative employment practice. Several states now require companies to have yearly or bi-yearly EEO refresher courses. And the EEOC has adopted that position as well: for all EEO claims now brought against employers, the EEOC will ask each witness: when and how were you trained on EEO policy, and when and how was this training refreshed? In this seminar, we will cover the basics help you sell management on the need for it and give you the tools to present your own training.
Topics to be covered:
What is the “compliance” part of annual compliance training?
- Overview of how courts and EEO agencies now view compliance training or the lack of it.
- How to sell management on the tangible benefits to doing it – from happier employees, to confident managers to reducing claims
- What topics to cover and what topics to avoid
- Sample agendas to work from.
- Pluses and minuses of audience participation
- How to keep from putting your managers to sleep: everyone loves a good story
- Tailoring the training to your company, its handbook, its reoccurring issues
- Quality is paramount – not quantity/length: keep it short.
2 SHRM PDCs and 2 HRCI General Credits have been approved for this program.
