    Join COSHRM for the fourth annual “Day at the Capitol” March 2nd and 3rd, 2016.

    Learn why and how to effectively advocate, see first-hand your legislators at work on the House and Senate floors, tour the beautiful Colorado State Capitol building, and meet with your local legislators to discuss current workplace issues and oversee committees in action as they discuss and debate proposed legislation.

    The event commences at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 with a webinar* on the legislative process.  Participate online or in person at MSEC.  The webinar will be followed by a networking reception at the Tavern Uptown. 

    The Day at the Capitol will take place on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016, beginning at 7:30 AM in the State Services building. Prior to the event you will be sent details on a specific meeting location....

    Join us for the fourth annual Colorado Day at the Capitol! 

    This event is designed to give you firsthand experience in learning how our legislative system works. Previous events have been successful in providing attendees an opportunity to form relationships with their legislators so they are more receptive to our inquiries and comments on pending workplace legislation.

    As this truly unique event unfolds, you will be whisked through various elements of the legislative process:

    • Watch your legislators at work during the Senate and House legislative session.
    • Dissect current workplace legislation and learn how to compose your story when addressing Legislators.
    • Learn how to effectively advocate.
    • Take a tour of our beautiful Capitol building and learn its rich history.
    • Meet your legislators and discuss current workplace issues.
    • Observe committees in action as they discuss and debate proposed legislation.
    • Listen and participate in special presentations from top political leaders as well as prominent state officials including:
      • Governor John Hickenlooper
      • Secretary of State Wayne Williams
      • Senator Kevin Lundberg
